Zurich – The restaurant Seerose a little outside the city of Zurich is a classic. I think it has one of the most beautiful terraces, built directly on the water. Even in winter you have a wonderful atmosphere with a view of Lake Zurich and the Alps in the distance. The food and the wines are always pretty good. If you want to come with your own boat, it has some moorings. The maneuver should have been practiced, because you have some viewers with you.
Definitely book ahead!

Josef – Tapas style dinner
Zurich – Josef has been a good address for good food for many years. It was an evening with my siblings were I was looking for a restaurant that match all type of “gusto” and something not too posh. What also kept me from visiting were the two shifts in the evening. I found out that this concept does not apply during the week. So the table was reserved on a Tuesday, as it was a warm and sunny day, we could even sit outside on the small terrace. The food is still very good as I remembered it.
I was so excited about the evening that three weeks later I reserved a table there again.
Kokoro – Authentic Japanese in Zurich
Zurich – I have heard many good things about Kokoro (the heart) but never managed to get a table. Some weeks ago I finally managed to book one. I was amazed and thrown back to Japan. The food was amazing, the staff very friendly and efficient and even the toilets are Japanese style (insiders know).
So if you are looking for an authentic Japanese dinner – not only containing sushi – you should reserve your table already today.
The prizes for the food are reasonable, but beware, the sake prizes add to the bill….
I will take some pics when I go next time….

Le P’tit Bleu – Simple and delicious from sea to table
La Rochelle – Do you like your seafood simple? Le P’tit Bleu (small Blue (Boat)) offers exactly this. You can choose between oysters, sword shell (“Couteaux” extraordinary good), squid, sardines, shrimps and a piece of butter and bread. You also have a choice of beer and wine, and that’s it.
The simple restaurant is located directly on the harbor of La Rochelle and offers a great view over the castle, the old town and the incoming and outgoing ships at high tide. I have rarely seen such an extreme change of tides as on the French Atlantic coast.
The terrace offers simple tables outside and is only open in good weather.

Au 14 Février – A festival for the taste buds
Lyon – Finally we managed to visit Lyon, the gourmet capital of the world…some say.
I found this small restaurant in an article and was not sure to really trust it. When the restaurant called me to confirm the reservation one week in advance, I realized that it was definitely not a small, simple pub.
My expectations rose and we were not disappointed. We knew the chef was Japanese, but when we were there, we felt a little like in Japan. All staff was Japanese and no small details in service, table setting was left to chance.
The menu costs 92 Euros but it is really worth it. It would not be surprising if Tsuyoshi Arai soon got an award for his kitchen.
Unfortunately the battery of my mobile was empty, so there are not so many pics of the delicious food.
